Land speed racing,
Gizmos LLc. is extensively involved in multiple land speed cars. A few of these cars are confidential due to the customers request but, the car Gizmos is most involved in is on its way to being the worlds fastest street rod. This is a tall order and we take it seriously. To be the the fastest street rod in the word you have to follow some guidelines. First, we drive the car (’34 Ford) from Minnesota to the Bonneville Salt Flats under its own power. Second, we race the SCTA land speed event and try to break the 214 MPH record. Third, we drive the car back to Minnesota under it’s own power. The trip from Minnesota to Bonneville is 1400 miles one way. Thats a total of 2800 miles we put on the 34 under its own power. 2800 miles is more the a lot in a race car to say the least. What we are doing is incredibly difficult with thousands of variables to slow us down.
The ’34 ford is a factory steel body non-altered with a 572ci. Hemi. The Hemi is a naturally aspirated, fuel injected 850 hp on 92 octane pump gas. The ’34 Ford is no stranger to land speed racing The ’34 has made the trip to Bonneville, UT seven times and El Mirage Dry Lake, CA one time.
With Greg Friedrich as the driver of the land speed racing car and the support of Ravenworks LLC, Porter Muffler, and Gizmos LLC the race program has shifted gears and we are full steam ahead. We were rained out at four events last year and most recently rained out at Speed Week this year. Being rained out is disappointing but we are determined to continue driving cross country with this bad ass race car to live the dream.
