Greg Friedrich has been involved in building cars used in land speed racing, drag racing, road racing, and Hot Rodding his entire life and career. As this is the only career he’s ever had, If there’s one thing Greg Friedrich is known for, it’s building amazing cars!
Greg Friedrich founded Gizmos custom Hot Rod Shop back in 2003 in a small rented garage. Starting with a dream and a business plan, Gizmos found themselves quickly outgrowing multiple locations and is now comfortably located in the north metro of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
From show-stopping custom hot rods, National winning drag cars to salt flat record-breakers and daily drivers; if you want a custom hot rod that’ll leave the competition in the dust and look good doing it – Gizmos is your shop.

Minnesota is home to one of the most active street rod associations in the world: Within the state of the Minnesota Street Rod Association and Their annual St. Paul, Back to the Fifties car show is a huge group of car enthusiasts ranging from traditional hot rods, LS swaps, Art Morrison frames under Pro Touring cars, race cars, and to the extreme of tube chassis cars. While most shops brag about their work to everyone and their brother, Gizmos takes a different approach. Privacy.
The Gizmos shop is open only by appointment. It is never open to the general public. If you are a customer, vendor, or doing business within the Gizmos facility you will be asked to sign a Nondisclosure. This gives our customers security and confidence.
Minnesota hot rod enthusiasts bring their cars to Gizmos because they want custom quality work they can’t get anywhere else. Gizmos clients want show-stopping, ass-kicking, speed-demons; and like any proud owner – they want to be the one to reveal their new baby.
Certainly, Gizmos will ask to use images of your completed project within their web platforms but, not until you’ve had the chance to reveal the finished product to the world.
